Flickrlicious

Since it's Friday and I've made a habit of not working (or just being mentally incapable of focusing on important projects), I discovered the third dimension of Flickr: groups.

I know, I know. "Duh, Blue. Where've ya been?" Seriously though, I've just been using Flickr as a storage device for my photos. I was hoping to build up my contact list with friends to share pictures of what life is like in New York and I could see what life is like down in San Antonio and DC, but it turns out that a lot of my friends either a) don't have a camera, b) don't have the inclination to take pictures, or c) are too lazy to put their photos up online. Tsk tsk tsk.

Now that I've discovered all these amazing groups, my mind is bubbling over with photo projects! There's a whole group devoted to nothing but photos of Queens and no one represents Queens Village yet (project #1). There's this cool challenge where you take a self-portrait every day for a year and the photos are pooled into a group (project #2). That's a pretty intense project. One photo a day doesn't sound like much, but it'll take a lot of creativity before it photos look monotonous or boring day after day. I don't think I'm ready to commit to that one yet.

Anyway, if I can get my ass out of bed tomorrow, I think I might start my Queens Village project. Represent, yo.

I'd rather be...

A great picture I found while Flickr surfing. Strph has beautiful photos.

A Serendipitous Evening

Nikki and I were reunited with our third leg tonight over blue corn nachos with goat cheese and ridiculously good sundaes at Serendipity 3. It was an appropriately decadent evening and so, so great to see our gal. An inventory list, if I may:

Nikki: The Blackout Sundae--a slice of their blackout cake (choco-heaven) with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge (real hot fudge), whipped cream, and a cherry.

Moonie: The "Can't Say No" Sundae--a slice of peanut butter and chocolate pie with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry.

Me: The Strawberry Fields Sundae--a ginormous slice of cheesecake with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, strawberry shortcake style strawberries, and a strawberry on top.

I'll be in recovery for a while, but I'll survive. Not so sure about Moonie. As always, check the Flickr for more pics.

Fuckin' Flickr

What the hell is wrong with the Uploadr tonight? Now I need to manually upload and tag each individual picture instead of my insta-drop and tag that I've gotten spoiled by. Hmph.

When Flick decides to cooperate with me tonight, I'll be able to finally post about delicious desserts and extra special company. Stay tuned...

Any Flickr users out there cursing under their breath too?

Cubicle folk

I'm mildly encouraged by the fact that these top political bloggers at The American Prospect--who use more brainpower each day than I do in a year--are relegated to a cubicle like me. I'm also thrilled that Matt Yglesias has allowed me to see what the hallowed halls of TAP look like. Not so hallow.

The Flickr Whore

...is the crass phrase I'm using for myself this weekend. I upgraded my account to pro a few days ago and now I've uploaded close to 900 photos, with more to come, as quickly as my sickly computer and internet access will allow.

I've promised SO MANY people that I would send them photos of various things and completely flaked on them, so I made it one of my New Year's resolutions to post photos online and finally share them with people.

Photos are finally up from a close friend's wedding and bachelorette party (from 2 1/2 years ago), the Red Sox Championship parade, my trips to Dublin and London, and more. A lot of these photos are restricted to viewing only by people in my contact list, but I've sent out a handful of guest passes. Please holler in the comments section here if I'm a bitch and have forgotten you.

The guest passes expire after a while, so if you want to continue to have access to my photo sets, you'll need to add me to your contact list on Flickr and I can grant you access. Enjoy, my fellow Foresters!

Dublin Pictures

Finally, I've set up a photoset on my Flickr account with photos from Dublin. These are just the public photos. Email me if you want to see more pictures (in other words, the ones with people in them). You'll need a Flickr account and you'll need to be one of my contacts in order to see them.
